چکیده
The figure below shows a schematic of the basic steps involved. Actual details are available in reference 1 above. A. The time series of a TDI variable (duration 1 year) is split into ∆ sec long segments (overlapping is optional). B. The FFT of each segment is arranged on a cone in a three dimensional space. This is the space of wave vectors corresponding to a particular choice of coordinates for representing the spatio-temporal signal density function. C. A three dimensional inverse FFT is applied to yield sky-maps: x and y are position coordinates on the sky and Ω is the source frequency. The quantity plotted as a function of position is, loosely speaking, the magnitude of the density function of monochromatic (in the barycenter frame) sources. D. Not shown in the figure above are steps that account for the rotating antenna pattern of LISA. There are several possible approaches here and one method has

Conventional Voxel in Tomographic Reconstruction Based upon Plane-Integral Projections – Use It or Lose It?
Introduction: While the necessity of replacing voxels with blobs in conventional tomographic reconstruction based upon line-integrals is clear, it is not however well-investigated in plane- integral-based reconstruction. The problem is more challenging in convergent-plane projection reconstruction. In this work, we are aiming at utilizing blobs as alternative to voxels. <stron...
متن کاملTomographic Reconstruction of the Ionospheric Electron Density in term of Wavelets
Ionospheric tomography is a method to investigate the ionospheric electron density in two or three dimensions. In this study, the function-based tomographic technique has been used for regional reconstruction of a 3D tomographic model of the ionospheric electron density using the GPS measurements of the Iranian Permanent GPS Network. Two-dimensional Haar wavelets and empirical orthogonal functi...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of FBP Reconstruction in SPECT Imaging
Introduction: The purpose of this study is to define the optimal parameters for the tomographic reconstruction procedure in a routine single photon emission tomography. The Hoffman brain phantom is modified to evaluate the reconstruction method. The phantom was imaged in a 3 and 2-dimensional conformation and the results were compared. Materials and Methods: The 2D phant...
متن کاملTomographic Reconstruction Methods for Decomposing Directional Components
Decomposition of tomographic reconstructions has many different practical application. We propose two new reconstruction methods that combines the task of tomographic reconstruction with object decomposition. We demonstrate these reconstruction methods in the context of decomposing directional objects into various directional components. Furthermore we propose a method for estimating the main d...
متن کاملOptimization of tomographic reconstruction workflows on geographically distributed resources.
New technological advancements in synchrotron light sources enable data acquisitions at unprecedented levels. This emergent trend affects not only the size of the generated data but also the need for larger computational resources. Although beamline scientists and users have access to local computational resources, these are typically limited and can result in extended execution times. Applicat...
